About Gradyn Bell

The author was born in England and has spent the most of her life living and travelling between North America and Europe. She took her first teaching qualification at Cambridge University in England and completed her MA at Gonzaga, a Jesuit University, in Spokane, USA. She has taught in Canada and England, where she taught French and History and in France, where she taught English. After retiring from teaching in the UK, she spent four years living in Brittany and travelling the rest of Europe. She has visited the places she writes about in The Dove and the Devil many times and has come to know the people of that area of France very well.
She and her husband both have children from former marriages and have produced between themselves nine grandchildren. She lives with her husband Derek and a very bossy small dog called Henry, on Vancouver Island, off the west coast of Canada
